Dolmar

The trio DOLMAR was written for the Ensemble Accroche Note and ordered by Radio France for the Festival Présences 2000.

The first performance was part of a concert by The Ensemble from Strasbourg in the Salle Olivier Messiaen at the Maison de la Radio in Paris, the 15th february of the same year. Dolmar is the name of a volcanic mountain in the southern part of Thüringen in Germany. The boiling sound-magma realized by trills and bunch of grapes of notes in the deep range of the instruments suddenly leads to eruptions of sparkling sound-particles. A very quiet contrasting space suggests the "sleeping" phase of the volcanic activity. But suddenly a new rush of energy emerges...
